It is not about meeting a goal - it is about meeting a need.

Please give, we make it simple! There are many ways to make your contribution!

It’s your gift, your call and your choice of how you want to give.

Your donation to Cooke County United Way stays here in our community.
Make a difference right here in your community!

Cooke County United Way is looking to the future as our community needs continue to grow.  Our vision is to be the critical link in our community, bringing together all community participants to build a stronger, healthier and more sustainable community as cost-effectively as possible. We strive to actively lead our community to share and leverage resources and to build collaborative partnerships that result in improved lives.

Beginning in 2005, Cooke County United Way established the LEGACY FUND with a bequest gifted by Leo and Mabel Scott. Then in 2013, United Way benefitted from another bequest gifted in memory of Tommy Winger. Over the last twelve years, the LEGACY FUND has truly made a difference in our community! We have now awarded over one million dollars through Legacy grants benefitting Cooke County residents including a $75,000 grant to Abigail’s Arms as seed money to turn the dream into a reality in establishing the new women’s shelter, $75,000 to the Boys & Girls Club’s new facility, $75,000 to CASA of North Texas for the purchase of their new building as well as capital improvements to Home Hospice of Cooke County and to Meals on Wheels to purchase the new Gainesville Senior Center assisting the agency in relocating after the devastating flood. Grant applications are accepted by any qualifying health and human service non-profit organization and extends opportunities beyond the United Way campaign.

Legacy Fund Giving
The enduring nature of your vision and generosity can continue to serve Cooke County for many years to come. A Legacy Fund gift can honor or remember a loved one, perpetuate your family name long beyond your lifetime, and involve future generations in philanthropic decision making -- all while garnering tax benefits today.

Perpetuating Your Gift

Your gift continues giving – forever – because United Way invests the funds to ensure resources for the future. A gift whose annual return would approximate your annual gift is an excellent option for perpetuating your current annual gift. Continue your family’s legacy of caring by supporting essential local health and human services. You can tailor your gift to meet your individual needs and interests.

Tailoring Your Philanthropy

With the income derived from the prudent investment of your gift you can decide to nurture children and youth, the disabled, the elderly or the homeless. Or you might opt to strengthen families or rebuild lives following the crises of emergencies and natural disasters. Through your Legacy Fund gift, whatever is important to you today can continue to be addressed tomorrow.

A Legacy Fund gift can honor a beloved family member, friend or an organization. Such a gift creates a legacy and memorializes the people and issues that have truly touched your life.

The Cooke County United Way Endowment Fund

The endowment was established by generous benefactors and is a permanent source of funds for continued community program investment.  Whether in agency grants or community impact projects the endowment fund allows additional improvement programs for Cooke County and it’s residents.
