Cooke County United Way Board recognizes that all students have talents and skills that can be directed towards service and leadership. These opportunities are not just for the students adults typically think should be included in after school clubs and student council, but changing how adults/teachers’ view youth, looking differently at every student, even those that would usually not be considered for a position of responsibility.
The goals of the Youth Council shall be:
1.To promote the creation of positive programs in the community.
2.To help improve existing programs.
3.To inspire leadership in our youth.
4.To help create a more positive image of Cooke County youth.
5.To give youth the opportunity to serve on an official board and
make decisions that will affect the community.
6.To promote positive relationships between youth and adult
leaders of Cooke County and the surrounding region.
The Council membership may include two high school students representing each Cooke County I.S.D, Home School Association and private schools.
